Carnival in Santa Teresa Rio de Janeiro |
Carnival in Santa Teresa is different from the Parade of the Samba Schools at the Sambodromo. In Santa Teresa you will find street parades with groups of brass instruments and percussion - the street parades are called "Blocos". Here in the picture you see Bloco "Céu na Terra" one of the most famous street parades. Different from the parades at the Sambodromo, here you don't pay entry, you just can join in and have fun and dance on the street. Carnival in Santa Teresa is pure fun and sometimes goes into the early morning hours.
